At this point you should be having flashbacks to the Halloween of 2007. William was only days old and I hadn't gotten a costume for Henry. (actually the one I picked out for him was a lobster and he refused to wear it)On Halloween morning Patrick went to Jewel and came back with a clearance duck costume. The tag said 3T and Henry had just turned 2. Let's just say there is no way that costume was a 3T. Henry willingly put it on but couldn't move as it's soft cotton turned to stretchy spandex on him once zipped. It was teeny tiny and we ended up cutting holes in the footies and poking Henry's feet through in order to make it "fit". It was so tight and when I first saw him I cried laughing.
A good mom wouldn't let that happen again. Right?
oops, I did it again. (did you just sing that line?)
It actually all worked out. We did have to make one small adjustment to the duck feet to make them "fit" that again involved scissors and cutting, but William loved his costume and wore it with pride. He loves stuffed animals and when we saw his costume at Target (it was either that or something very ghoulish and scary) he hugged it and then insisted that it sit next to him in the shopping cart.
On Halloween we went to dinner at Chili's with Emily, Brandon, Charlie and Oliver and then they came to our neighborhood for trick-or-treating.
Henry, Oliver, Charlie and William
Charlie and Henry
Charlie
Oliver
Not only was he an adorable puppy...
he was also a prop for Charlie's costume.
A box from the UPS man.
Such a cute package!
William
My favorite part of his costume was the fluffy rear end that stuck out.
trick-or-treat!
Henry and Charlie were very brave and marched right up to the doors to get their candy.
The boys and Miss. Brooke
Brooke lives on our street and babysits all of our boys when we have our Bible Study on Monday nights. We met her through Emily; they went to high school together.
