a la carte

{This is my post from last night. Things are going much faster today!}
Tonight I'm really here nor there. I'm not feeling any one picture story for our day. So I settled on a little bit of this and that.
First up: Body Doubles
IMAG0164
IMAG0163
IMAG0163
{Pardon the poor picture quality. I snapped these with my phone and the resolution is terrible when cropped.}
Tonight while we were waiting for Patrick to get home, the boys and I made these. I traced the boy's bodies first, and they colored them in. Except for I colored in the one of William. Who wants to give me a class on drawing faces?? Please! He told me he wanted it to be a sad face. And he drew the alleged hair. When it was finished I held it up and started laughing so hard I had tears. Rolling down my face. Hysterical laughing. It felt good, but then I started having coughing fits with the laughter. Then we were all rolling. I said, "If I saw this guy walking down the street, I would run the other way!"; and that caused more uproarious laughter. We were cracking up. "What if this guy was sleeping in your bed?" More cracking up. And then Patrick got home and died laughing at both of them. He said Henry's looked like a "mummy chicken". Henry says it's him without a mouth in a Cubs uniform. Y'all be the judge: mummy chicken, or Henry on the Cubs?
Speaking of Cubs, Henry got some happy mail today:

He has been saving his money and decided to buy a Cubs jersey. I was so proud of my boy for choosing this bargain. We found it online for 19.99, on clearance.

What makes it a clearance special is that Derrek Lee no longer plays for the Cubs. So basically Henry bought an already outdated jersey. But he is thrilled! I showed him the tags that were on the jersey when they came; the regular price was $69.95 {outrageous, I might add} and told him I think it was great he chose the deal. I think I'm raising a TJ Maxxer!

I'm really loving these stairs. Found here.

And how are you feeling about wallpaper these days? I just love these wallpapered kitchens.
I really thought I was done for yellow forever after the yellow horror the farmhouse used to be, but this one yellow wallpapered wall is making me rethink swearing off yellow forever. There's something so fresh and yet warm about it.

I lOVE this a la carte post. Henry looks so handsome in his Cubs jersey and what a steal! You are teaching him well!
Those body drawings are too funny! I just did this with Ben the other day, and he wasn't the least bit amused. He ripped it in half to have a map! I needed to be at your house to join in the fun and laughter! I love the mummy chicken!

And, wallpaper. I love it and will use it EVERYWHERE someday. These kitchens are gorgeous! I've sworn off yellow too although I love it in that picture!

I've used 'love' a lot in this post and a lot of these '!' as well. I think I always do :-)
Love you too!
Hope you're having a good day!

Great purchase, Henry! I still wear my Ryne Sandberg shirt and he's no longer even playing baseball:) Although hopefully he'll come back to coach in some fashion. With sports, especially baseball, you never know when you might see a player back on your team!

A.) Love those stairs! Must. Paint. Stairs. Soon.

B.) Was JUST searching "vinyl wallpaper" on etsy yesterday! True story! Found this shop: http://www.etsy.com/shop/byrdiegraphics and particularly was thinking of this for the foyer: http://www.etsy.com/listing/62659097/moroccan-bubbles-30-graphics-item-10027 (can you tell I've been following Nie Nie's basement remodel?). But in general, I'm with Erica on wallpaper - love it (never thought I'd say that after the kinds of wallpaper we grew up with)! Just wish it wasn't so expensive.

C.) Love that my nephew is a bargain shopper. And so super handsome in his new jersey!

Love you guys!

The wallpaper in that kitchen is extravagant, but then again so is the kitchen! I'd love to have either (BOTH). :) I'm proud of Henry for saving his money and making his own choice. He is super wonderful. And may I add 'super handsome'.
