our weekend

We had visitors over the weekend.
IMAG0166
My Dad and Sandi came for a visit. We picked Henry up from school and he gave them a tour of his classroom.
We made sure to make our usual stop at our favorite hot spot,
for the most delicious iced sugar cookies around.
{And a big box of assorted other bakery goods. Yum.}
And since it was one of the warmer days we've had this year {63 and the AC was on!},
we went to the zoo.
I love our little zoo. It's perfect for letting little boys run free and explore.
We pet goats through the fence and visited with the tiger. He was actually awake!

The weather wasn't as Springlike for the rest of their visit; in fact there were thunderstorms Friday night and snow flurries on Saturday! {Crazy March weather.} It was a lovely visit though; William loved watching gorilla and tiger videos with my Dad on YouTube and Henry loved making crafts and learning to Mod-Podge with Sandi {who am I kidding, I loved this too}, and we ended  our Friday night with take-out pizza from the gas station. {Mmm, cheesy Casey's pizza, only in a small town!}
Thank you for coming Dad and Sandi! And thank you Dad for bringing delicious homemade cinnamon rolls to share!

From the pictures and post, it appears you had a wonderful time with your dad and Sandi. The boys must have been in 'grandparent' heaven. They are so blessed, for sure. Your post is great with all the pictures. The ones of the bakery are really special too. My mouth actually watered a little bit! Henry's classroom looks adorable. I'll have to see it next time I visit. Love, Mom

Two things (and they both have to do with food):

1. Those cookies looked DELICIOUS and I feel the need to hit up Grove Street right now!

2. We enjoy Casey's pizza quite often, as well!!
