Gingerbread Houses

Yesterday William and I went to first grade to help Henry's class make gingerbread houses. 25 six and seven year olds. The day before Christmas break. Candy, frosting and cookies. The first snowflakes flurrying and sticking to the grass outside. It should have been chaos.
But it wasn't chaos at all! First graders are very self sufficient and they know just how they want their houses to look. They got busy right away frosting and sticking and decorating.
Mrs. O'Brian even let William join in the fun. At first he was shy, but he quickly warmed up and started frosting and decorating his own house too.
Henry's finished house. I like the little gingerbread men plastered around every edge. It's sticky sweet and I love every last frosted bit!
And William's finished house. Perfectly perfect. I didn't help him one bit! He did every piece of this by himself. So proud of him!
Henry showing his friends Andrew and Keonta his little house. Oh boys!
It started snowing during the party which was joy squared. The children all rushed to the windows and shrieked about the snow. It was a heavy, windy and pretty snow. Perfect timing too!
I'm so thankful for every opportunity to be involved with my sweet boys. p.s. Patrick dressed the boys on this morning in the matching Superman t's. :)

How fun! Love Henry's finished house and how proud William's face looks! :-)

It's always fun to see they in action in their classes and meet all their little friends. Looks like a fun group!

(and I love the matching superman Ts :-)).
