French Doors

They're done! The pictures above are from start to finish--the doors arriving on the truck, waiting in the garage, before/afters. Bless Patrick's heart...he finished painting the doors and walls today (after the doors were installed, he had to tear out the remaining wall next to the doors and re-dry wall to make it more even in addition to creating trim to match our existing trim in our house)and now it's a finished product. We are loving this update/change to our dining room! We get so much light into our dining room and living room and also love the view of our backyard. We've been using our deck more, too just because it's such easy access. So for those of you skeptics that disliked the idea of taking out the old (and character-filled) long window...what do you think? I'm really hoping we added character and didn't lose it!

I can't believe that's the same wall! It looks FANTASTIC. Kudos to Patrick for his amazing do-it-yourself skills. I wouldn't give a seconds thought to the "character" of that window- you couldn't even see anything out of it!! Enjoy the nice weather days while you still can on your deck (we used ours tonight, and love it too!).

These look AMAZING! It does totally open up that room and it looks so nice and airy! Very impressive; nice job, Patrick. :-)

Love the pics from Memorial Day weekend, too. It had been too long since we had the boys together. Maybe we can sneak one more get together before baby comes?!

Love you guys,

Sara

The doors are fantastic! It really opens up the area. It looks like Henry was loving the truck too. Can't wait to see your new doors closeup. Now that I'm retired we will have to get down to see you.

Wow! I did love that rectangular window, but the french doors look great. I love the change (and the room is still full of character)! Patrick is really talented!

So we're going to have to hire Patrick for all our handy jobs once we get our own home. Or maybe Jean will just have him on speed dial to get advice - my brother does that with one of his friends...can't wait to see it in person!
